ITTA BENA, Miss. - The MVSU volleyball team will host Southeastern Louisiana Wednesday (Sept. 18) at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex at 6 p.m. The Devilettes are 1-1 playing at home this season while the Lady Lions hold a 1-2 road record. MVSU is averaging 7.80 kills, 0.94 aces, 11.93 digs, and 1.00 blocks per set, hitting .076 as a team. Jessica Bell ranks third in the conference with 104 total digs averaging a team-best 2.85 per set. Jazaiah Anderson leads the squad with 2.07 kps while Tyer Caliste is at 1.97. With Ariana Austin (5.75 assists per set) out of the lineup due to injury Caliste (2.57) serves as the primary setter. The Devilettes are on a three-game losing skid after falling to Nicholls State, Louisiana Monroe, and host La Tech during the LA Tech Invitational.

The Devilettes continue their three-game home stand on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. against Henderson State (4-4). Before their match up with MVSU, the Reddies will take on both Spring Hill College (Ala.) and Mississippi College on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA LADY LIONS
Southeastern Louisiana (3-7-2) hosted the SLU Lion Up Classic and fell to California Baptist, but ended the weekend defeating Jackson State. MVSU will be their third SWAC opponent of the season; earlier this month SLU swept Alabama A&M at a neutral site. The Lady Lions are averaging 12.03 kills, 1.49 aces, 13.62 digs and 1.51 blocks per set, hitting .236 as a team. Jodi Edo leads the team with 2.56 kps, while Sam Gomez is second at 2.36. Baylee Laskoskie (6.50 assists per set) and Ariana Herbert (5.42) split the setting duties. Alexis Pratt is tops on the squad with 3.03 dps, while Edo (0.77) and Karlee Wilkerson (0.53) pace the team in blocks per set. Valley and Southeastern Louisiana have met twice with the Lions taking both meetings. The two teams last faced off in 2007.
BELL TAKES ALL-TOURNAMENT HONORS AT LA TECH INVITATIONAL
Jessica Bell was named to the All-Tournament Team after the Louisiana Tech Invitational on Sept. 14. She registered 24 digs on the weekend, including 10 against Louisiana Monroe. Bell added service aces against the Warhawks and Techsters as well.
CALISTE EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT ACCOLADES AT JAGUAR INVITATIONAL
Tyler Caliste was named to the Jaguar Invitational All-Tournament Team on Sept. 7. She ended the weekend with 16 kills, 15 digs, 12 assists, three blocking assists, and an ace. In the contest against Tennessee State, Caliste led the match with 10 kills.
