MOBILE, Ala. – Mississippi Valley State sophomore Tyler Caliste (New Orleans, La.) was named to the Jaguar Invitational All-Tournament Team Saturday (Sept. 7). The recognition came following Valley's 3-0 loss (9-25, 16-25, 11-25) to South Alabama. 

Caliste ended the weekend with 16 kills, 15 digs, 12 assists, three blocking assists and an ace. In the contest against Tennessee State, she led the match with 10 kills. 

In today's match, however, it was Jaziah Anderson (Wiregrass Ranch, Fla.) who led Valley with three kills, along with a pair of blocks. Tylia Dixon (Chino, Calif.) led the Devilettes with 10 digs. 

South Alabama's stout defense held Valley to 10 kills on the afternoon. The Devilettes hit -.167 on the day with 22 attack errors. 

The loss drops Valley to 1-7 this year. Next up is a doubleheader Tuesday (Sept. 10) against Lyon and Tougaloo in Jackson.
