Huntsville, Al.| Mississippi Valley wins a tough conference game against Alabama A&M by the score of 72-66 on Monday Night.
The Devils came out firing on all cylinders tonight behind the shooting of Michael Green and Zachary Barnes. They both finished the first half with twelve points respectively.
As a team The Devils shot 51.5 percent from the field including 50 percent from behind the three point line in the first half.
Caleb Hunter was able to penetrate the lane and provide a few easy buckets to push the first half lead to 42-28 for The Delta Devils.
The second half started a little slow for The Devils and The Bulldogs closed the lead down behind good shooting from Cameron Tucker and Garrett Hicks. That still wasn't enough for The Devils to relinquish the lead.
Torico Simmons finished the game strong, leading the team and sharing the ball with his teammates. He finished the game with 15 points and 4 rebounds.
Caleb Hunter finished the game with 19 points and 5 assists, Michael Green finished with 17 points and Zachary Barnes who was held scoreless in the 2nd half helped Mississippi Valley finish the game with four players in double digit scoring.
Cameron Tucker led The Bulldogs with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Alabama A&M shot 39.7 percent from the field while The Delta Devils shot 44.8 percent for the game.
The Devils will be back in action this coming Saturday in The R.W. Harrison HPER Complex as they play host to The Braves of Alcorn St.
