Itta Bena, Ms. Shelli Thigpen, Azaria Howard and Angelica Darcus all finished the game in double digits. Darcus lead the team with 17 points to go along with her 4 rebounds and 3 assists. It was a back and forth game from the start and The Devilettes put up a good fight against The Braves, but they proved to be to much to handle.

Mississippi Valley finished the game shooting 38 percent from the field while Alcorn State shot 54.8 percent. Both teams battled throughout the game and Valley even closed the lead to 56-54 late in the second half, but after that spurt The Braves opened the lead to double digits and never relinquished it again.

Nyenkeer Malwal of Alcorn State led all scorers with 26 points and was 11 of 12 from the field and added 8 rebounds to go along with that.

The Devilettes will be back in action on Monday, January 20, as they play host to the Jaguars of Southern University. Game set to start at 2:00 p.m.
