Itta Bena, Ms. Freshman Caleb Hunter had another standout performance for The Devils of Mississippi Valley. He finished with a game high 26 points and 4 assists. Senior Guard Michael Green finished the game with 24 points on ten of nineteen shooting.
The Devils battled the entire game, including having the lead early in the third quarter. Caleb Hunter scored the first 8 points for The Devils coming out of halftime forcing The Jaguars to take a early timeout. Later in the half The Jaguars went on a run to regain the lead and never relinquished it from that point.
The Jaguars had four players with double digit scoring outputs, including a fifteen point and six rebound performance by Darius Williams.
Hunter has been putting up impressive numbers for the entire season. In conference play he is averaging a team leading 18.3 points a game which has him in the early conversation for SWAC Freshman & SWAC Newcomer of the year.
The Devils are back in action this Saturday as they travel to Texas Southern to continue conference play. Tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
