Itta Bena, MS.- The Delta Devils lose a hard fought game on Senior Night to Texas Southern in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game by a score of 94-92 inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.
Senior Michael Green was the high point man for the Delta Devils with 26 points to go along with a 21 point performance by Caleb Hunter and 19 points from Senior Torico Simmons.
Mississippi Valley was up by two coming out of the locker room from halftime and came out firing. They opened up a 11 point lead on the Tigers but it quickly dwindled with Texas Southern showing that they can score the ball too.
With Green and Simmons out the game due to foul trouble, the Delta Devils turned to Freshman Quinton Alston for a last second shot to win the game but it came up short.
As a team Mississippi Valley bounced back from Monday's one assist performance as a team, ending the game with 14.
Texas Southern's Justin Hopkins finished the game with 24 points and ten rebounds to lead his team. John Jones was 5-5 from the three point line, ending the game with 19 points.
The Delta Devils are back in action on Monday night as they host the Panthers of Prairie View A&M to continue conference play. Tip off set for 7:30 or 20 minutes following the Women's game.
