Itta Bena, MS.- The Devilettes lose to the Lady Tigers of Texas Southern University by a score of 86-79 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game on Saturday evening inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.

Ayonna Cotten was the leading scorer tonight for the Devilettes with a team high 21 points.

Azaria Howard finished the game with 20 points, 13 rebounds and three steals to go along with Shelli Thigpen's 17 points, ten rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Mississippi Valley battled the entire game and held the lead for 15 minutes of the game but was unable to close it out in the 4th quarter. Late turnovers down the stretch hurt the Devilettes
as they were out scored 32-22 in the final period.

Richelle Velez of Texas Southern had a huge game to lead her team with a game high 26 points on seven of 12 from behind the three point arc.

The Devilettes are back at home on Monday night as they play host to the Panthers of Prairie View A&M. Tip set for 5:30PM.
