Hattiesburg, Ms.- Mississippi Valley State Devilettes open the 2020 campaign with a 8-4 victory over St. Louis University on Friday evening in a non conference tournament hosted by the University of Southern Mississippi. 

St. Louis opened the game with early runs to take a two nothing lead after one inning played. 

In the second inning the Devilettes came out the dugout swinging and took the over the game with a five to one run inning. 

In the third inning, the Devilettes added three more runs to open the lead to 8-3 in favor of Mississippi Valley State. From that point the defense picked up for both teams and only one run would score for the remainder of the game. 

Brianna Alston finished with four appearances at the plate including three hits and two runs scored. Cailyn Peterson had five plate appearances with 3 RBI's, two hits and one run. 

The Devilettes are back in action today as they play the University of Southern Mississippi.
