Delta Devils Faced off against Nicholls State

Thibodaux, LA- The Delta Devils made the trip to Louisiana to face Nicholls State University in a non-conference match up.

MVSU vs. Nicholls State (0-14)

The Delta Devils finished the game with 3 hits and 3 errors. The colonels earned 16 hits with 14 runs. The final score was 14-0 with Nicholls State striking first at the bottom of the 2nd for their first run and they didn't look back.

Following the tough loss, the Delta Devils played game 2 with both toughness and grit. Both teams combined for a total of 5 hits. Both teams pitching was stellar, but the Colonels took advantage of their opportunity at the bottom of the 6th. Dane Simon walked and advanced to third on a throwing error to second base. Alec Paz grounded into a double play allowing Simon to score unearned. Heading into the top of the 7th the Delta Devils were down 1-0 and the Colonels were able to hold on to the 1-run lead.
