Jackson, Ms.- The Delta Devils come up short to Jackson State by a score of 87-70 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game on Saturday night.
Caleb Hunter was the high point player for Mississippi Valley with 30 points to go along with his three assist and two rebounds. Senior Michael Green finished the game with 16 points on five of 19 shooting.
The Delta Devils opened the game with a three point basket, then the Tigers went on a 18-0 run going into the second media timeout in the first half. From that point in the game Jackson State never relinquished the lead but both teams would battle going into the second half.
Jackson State finished with five players in double digits including a 27 point output by Tristan Jarrett. Jayveous McKinnis added 20 rebounds to go along with his eleven points on the evening.
The Delta Devils will be back in action this Monday as they continue SWAC play against the Tigers of Grambling State.
