Murray State Races Past Delta Devilettes

 
ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's basketball program could not cooldown a blistering Racers offense as the visitors knocked down over 55% of its shots in a 74-50 loss.

  • Mikayla Etienne had her second consecutive game with double-figure scoring, posting a team and season-high 14 points plus two threes, two assists, two steals and a rebound.
 
  • Ronni Williams was nothing if not consistent, dishing out a season/team-best six assists along with seven points, four boards and a steal.
 
  • Sarah Moore led MVSU in rebounds at seven during the morning affair while produced the Green and White's lone block.
 
  • Kerrigan Johnson had her best performance of her three-game stint in Itta Bena, logging a personal-best nine points off the pine (all three-pointers) plus a season-high three boards.

Notes
 
  • Valley more than doubled-up the Racers in bench points (17-8) spearheaded by Johnson.
 
  • Despite limited opportunities, Mississippi Valley State was a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe, the first time it had not missed a free throw since January 17, 2018, when it had the same line (4-of-4) against Texas Southern.
 
Head Coach Ashley Walker-Johnson will have her Delta Devilettes locked and loaded for the Lady Eagle Thanksgiving Classic, beginning Friday versus Southeast Missouri State at 3 p.m. on the campus of Southern Miss.
