ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State women's soccer program took an early lead in the 24th minute and came within seconds of a draw before Sunny Bowlin-Stacy broke the Delta Devilettes' hearts with a sudden death overtime goal.

Madeleine Hebert put one past ASU's Sheila Sanchez to give Mississippi Valley its first lead of the year, receiving one of the team's two corner kicks and turning it into an assist from Aryana Saenz and tapping it through the pipes.

MVSU was a perfect 7-for-7 with its shots, posting seven on-goal kicks to claim a new season-best.

Merica Abnathy led the offensive onslaught with three on-target boots, Beatriz Kretteis followed behind with two plus both Hebert and Taiwo Badejo had one apiece.

McKenzie McCarthy had easily her best outing of the campaign, allowing just two goals in just under 100 minutes of action while saving 14 shots for a 7-to-1 ratio.
