ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University volleyball program tripled Bethune-Cookman's aces total (9-3) but were unable to snag a victory despite three closely contested sets.

Chardea Berthelot and Destini Banks had six of the team's nine service aces with Seleste Harris picking up two and Seerdyn James tallying the final one. The three student-athletes combined for 30.5 of 38.5 points for MVSU which accounts for 79.2%.

James led the offense with 11 points as she went for a team-high nine kills, two block assists, two digs and an ace.

Victoria Mallard did most of her damage at the service line and above the net, tallying just four kills but making up for it with three aces and four blocks (2 solo, 2 assists) en route to 10 points overall.

Berthelot got her 9.5 points via six kills, three aces and a block assist while picking up three digs for good measure.
