- The setback was the first overtime game of the season and its first defeat in extras since an 87-86 loss to Jackson State on March 2, 2019.
Â
- The two squads were having difficulties with sticky defense all game long as MVSU and NSU combined for 62 turnovers between them. The Green and White fall to 0-6 on the year when winning the turnover battle (35-27).
Â
- Valley had its best three-point shooting game in four seasons, making 11 triples in a contest for the first time since November 11, 2017. It was also the first time the ladies attempted more than 30 shots from downtown in that same span.
Â
- Finally, the Devilettes swiped 15 steals for the first time since the season finale in 2019 versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Â
The women will switch roles with the men this upcoming Tuesday as they head to Jonesboro to face Arkansas State inside First National Bank Arena at 7 p.m.
