Itta Bena, Miss.- The Mississippi Valley State Devilettes secure their first conference win against the Lady Braves of Alcorn State, by a score of 69-67 on Saturday afternoon inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.

How It Happened
After a back-and-forth battle for the first few minutes of the game, a three-point basket by
Trenity Hill gave the Devilettes the lead and they didn't look back.
Zakiya Mahoney led all scorers in the game with 19 on 6-of-14 shooting including two threes. Mahoney rounded out her stellar performance with eight rebounds, four assists and one steal.Â

Junior guard
Ronni Williams tallied a total of ten points to go along with her eight assists and four rebounds.
Da'Sha McGloster hit a couple of timely long balls and finished the game with 14 points, three rebounds and three assists.Â

The Devilettes held the lead for more than 30 minutes of the game, with their largest lead coming early in the fourth quarter. Despite being outscored in the paint, the Devilettes shot 48.9 percent from the field and doubled the Lady Braves in scoring from behind the arc shooting 6-of-12. As a team the Devilettes made 35 trips to the charity stripe, converting on 19 of those attempts.
