Itta Bena, Miss.- The Mississippi Valley State volleyball team was unable to break through in three tight sets Sunday evening, falling to the visiting Alcorn State Lady Brave, 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-21), inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.
The first set was the most competitive, with the lead changing multiple times. The Devilettes came out with a new energy under newly appointed Head Coach Janay Yancey.Â

The Devilettes were led by junior Chardea Berthelot as she was tied for a team high of five kills, one ace and a big block late in the match.

Destini Banks added five kills to the Devilettes total playing sparingly throughout the match.

Ariana Austin led the game in assists (14), to go along with her eight digs.

Next Up
The Devilettes travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to continue conference play against Southern University on Tuesday, February 9th at 6PM.
