JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State football program participated in the rare Sunday afternoon college football game, dropping the newly-formed Delta-Bayou Classic inside Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Jalani Eason made a statement with his arm, completing 69% (20-of-29) of his passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns while picking up an additional 31 yards on the ground.
 
His scoring plays were spread evenly amongst Jarius Clayton, Jacory Rankin and Donald Johnson with each hauling in a score while going for 70, 53, and 36 receiving yards, respectively.
 
Caleb Johnson torched the Jags rushing the football, averaging 5.7 yards per carry en route to 109 yards and a touchdown.
 
On defense, Volme Swanier notched the Delta Devils' lone sack of the afternoon on top of 1.5 tackles for loss and seven tackles overall.
 
Jeremiah Caine brought down ballcarriers all day long, registering a game-best 11 plus one tackle in the backfield.
