Mississippi Valley State Top Performers

  • Shelli Thigpen had her best performance of 2021-22, posting a season-high 13 points on 50% shooting while hitting all five of her free throws as well as a season-best six boards plus a pair of assists.

  • Ronni Williams tied her season high watermark with four steals to lead players on both sides on top of a team-leading three dimes.

  • Zakiya Mahoney logged her fifth consecutive ballgame with double-figures in the scoring column, securing a team-high 16 points for her seventh ten-plus scoring point total in ten contests.

  • Mikayla Etienne continued to score in bunches, registering ten points exactly to give her eight such outbursts of at least that much on the year.

  • Sarah Moore was the team's top rebounder down low, grabbing seven rebounds to hit that number in 60% of matchups this season while never failing to crack at least five in a game.

Notes

  • Valley dominated in the turnover department as it forced ten more than A&M (24-14) and scored 12 more points off those mistakes (23-11) but a nearly 20% difference in field-goal percentage (47.1-28.4) was a key difference.

The Devilettes will make its first SWAC road trip of the season on Saturday for a clash with the Lady Panthers of Prairie View at 3 p.m.
