Mississippi Valley State Overview:

MVSU is the fourth-most accurate shooting team in the Southwestern Athletic Conference coming into the weekend, putting half of its 26 shots on-target.

McKenzie McCarthy continues to lead the nation in saves per game average with 10.14, is among the top-25 in the NCAA for total saves at 71, and her 78% save percentage is second-highest in the league.

The team's leading scorer, Bailee Washington, is one of two Devilettes among the conference leaderboards, ranking seventh in goals per match (0.29), eighth for points a game (0.71), and tenth for overall points (5). The freshman from Birmingham also tops the squad with a 75% shot accuracy rating and 0.43 shots-on-goal a contest while being the only multi-goal scorer plus notching one of the club's four assists.

The other lady from the Mississippi Delta who is among the best in the SWAC is Juliette Charriez, sliding in the back door to take the tenth and final slot regarding assists per game (0.17).

Scouting The Grambling State Lady Tigers:

The projected conference champions in the preseason poll currently sit just a quarter of a game out of the top slot with a 3-1-2 record in SWACtion. They had one of the more successful non-conference showings among their league peers, picking up victories over LSU-Shreveport, Alcorn, and Little Rock.

Similar to Valley, GSU is one of the most accurate teams in the entire NCAA, posting the tenth ranked shot accuracy percentage in the country at 56.2%.

Grambling has played 15 games and keeper Madison Covey-Taylor has blanked the opposition in six of those, the most in the SWAC and top-30 overall.

If the match is going down to the wire, the Black and Gold have looked to Karlyn Judge to come up big, as she has three of the squad's six game-winning goals.

Samantha Diaz is among the top goal scoring threats in the conference with a team-high five scores while former Devilette Beatriz Kretteis is the second-most accurate shooter in the SWAC at 54.8%.
