BATON ROUGE, La. – The Mississippi Valley State University volleyball program won its first SWAC set of the campaign against the Lady Braves but were unable to capture a victory in a pair of defeats inside Clifford Seymour Gymnasium on Sunday.

- Chardea Berthelot recorded a double-double for the third time this year and fourth of her career, contributing a team-best ten kills and a career-high 15 digs versus ASU. The match marked her third consecutive double-digit dig match and sixth of the season plus its fifth ten-plus kill game in 2022 while her three service aces opposite Texas Southern was a season-best.

- Chariah Mabry was clearly the best Devilette in the SWAC Round-Up opener versus the Lady Tigers, putting together season-best marks of eight digs and five kills with a .267 hitting percentage.

- Mallory Lamport went for a personal-best 15 digs in the nightcap, tying Berthelot for the team lead, the third time she has gone for ten or more in her debut campaign.

- Seerdyn James set a new career benchmark regarding assists with five helpers against Alcorn while Kailyn Charles made her first dent in the stat column with her first career kills (2) and assist in the doubleheader.

- MVSU and Alcorn each knocked down a pair of blocks, the second time this year that Valley tied its opponent in that category.

- Valley State had its best all-around match of the season versus the Lady Braves, notching its highest kill (29) and dig (51) totals versus a NCAA Division I opponent in 2022.
Mississippi Valley looks to be horrible house guests as it looks to take down the Lady Jaguars of Southern in its lair in a Halloween clash at 1 p.m.
