Devilettes Drop Doubleheader On Day One Of SWAC Round-Up


HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Mississippi Valley State University volleyball program were unable to take any sets from neither UAPB nor Prairie View on Sunday to begin the SWAC Round-Up in T.M. Elmore Gymnasium.

Mississippi Valley State Top Performers
 
  • Six of the eight student-athletes who participated in the pair of matches set some sort of either season or career-high with Toni Clemons making her collegiate debut against the Lady Lions.
     
  • Over the six sets combined, Berthelot was the top scorer with 13 kills (2.17 p/s), James and Lee both contributed a team-high three service aces (0.50 p/s), the latter of those two averaged four-and-a-half assists per set while the former logged 12 digs (2 p/s).
 
Notes
 
  • The Green and White saw more serves hit the floor than its opponent for the third time this season, connecting on eight aces while Prairie View had seven.
 
Valley State will get one more chance to get off the SWAC schneid versus Grambling State on Monday morning at 11 a.m.
