BATON ROUGE, La. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's basketball program went up against an offensive buzzsaw in the 14th-ranked LSU Lady Tigers and fell by a count of 111-41.

Mississippi Valley State Top Performers:
 
  • Kyriana Jones took her turn as the top point scorer for the Devilettes offense, registering 11 points as the only Valley State student-athlete to reach double-digits. She also registered three rebounds, an assist, and one of the team's two threes.
 
  • Elisa Saffold made the other long-range connection, putting a nine-spot on the scoreboard and shooting 40% from the floor while tying for the club lead with five boards, joining both Krisen Hunt and Zaria Harleaux with the same total.
   
Notes:
 
  • Despite playing an SEC opponent 54 times prior to Friday night, including Wednesday's contest at Mississippi State, this was the first time in program history that these two squads met on the hardwood in women's basketball.
 
Valley turns its attention to a Monday afternoon matchup in Nashville against Lipscomb University at 4 p.m. inside Allen Arena.
