ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball program gained its newest member of the 1,000-career point club as Caleb Hunter went for a Valley-best 16 points in the loss against Jackson State.

• Caleb Hunter led his father's side with 16 points and three triples while hauling in three rebounds as well. During his 72-game tenure in The Valley, the Detroit native has amassed 1,013 points for an average of 14.1 a night.

 

• Devin Gordon put forth his eighth consecutive contest of scoring in double-digits, producing 12 on the evening.

 

• Quorien Waldon and Gary Grant shared the club-lead for rebounds with six while the former's marked a career-best and the latter also contributed 11 points for his fifth game with ten-plus in five attempts.

 

• Kadar Waller shot 66.7% from the floor (4-for-6) and dropped 11 points, tallying his third-in-a-row with at least that much while extending his SWAC-high free-throw percentage to 88.5% by tacking on a pair of makes.

 

• Elijah Davis was the only Delta Devil with multiple assists, notching three on top of four points and two boards.

• Hunter eclipsed the elusive milestone with a three-pointer at the 7:33 mark in the first half, giving the Devils a 19-18 advantage.

 

• Mississippi Valley won the turnover battle for the 13th time in 20 contests, earning a plus-seven mark as it committed 10 turnovers while forcing 17.
