Mississippi Valley State Top Performers
Â
- Rahael Aka-Ety came painfully close to getting the Devilettes on the board twice. The first ball was a beautiful long-distance rainbow that went off the keepers' glove, then the top post, bounced on the goal line, bounced again off the right post, and then was kicked out. The ladies celebrated as if it had gone through, but the referees thought otherwise as play continued. The second ball was a laser shot off the top post once again.
Â
- McKenzie McCarthy came up just 15 minutes shy of her first career shutout, instead settling for her 21st match with ten or more saves, reaching that exact number in a complete game effort.
Â
- Two other MVSU student-athletes logged a shot as Aryana Saenz contributed one while Juliette Charriez got off her first attempt in the Green and White.
Â
Notes
Â
- Both teams played aggressively on the pitch, resulting in 25 fouls and six yellow cards.
Valley wraps up its non-conference slate on Sunday, September 25 with a Sunday morning, 10 a.m. kickoff as the Chicago State Cougars come to town.
