ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's soccer program will get its final tune-up before conference play starts next weekend against Chicago State in a Sunday morning rumble.

Mississippi Valley State Overview:

The Green and White clad ladies from MVSU tops the NCAA in goalkeeper saves per match, stopping an average of 13 potential goals a game.

 McKenzie McCarthy, the two-time SWAC Goalkeeper of the Week, is the nation's top netminder, averaging a nation-high 11.50 saves a match, is third in the SWAC for total saves (46), and has the second-best save percentage in the league (0.793).

Three student-athletes that play field positions; Rahael Aka-Ety, Cielo Mazantini, and Tallulah Nemet-Sargent; have played all 360 minutes without leaving the pitch as well as McCarthy.

Aka-Ety is the lone Devilette with multiple shots-on-goal (2) while Aryana Saenz, Cambree Catalano, and Bailee Washington contributed one apiece.

Scouting The Chicago State Cougars:

CSU has banked a pair of wins in 2022 including on Friday night at Alcorn (3-1) plus another road victory at Valparaiso (2-1). The visitors from the Windy City also came away with a scoreless draw opposite Bellarmine.

Chicago State is the 20th-most accurate shooting team in the country, placing 55.7% of their shots on-goal (47-of-85).

The seven goals that the Cougars have scored have all came from different ladies with Delaney Kenney leading the club with four points, courtesy of a goal and two assists.

Alexa Seiler has got the starting nod in nine of the squad's 11 matchups, with a sparkling 1.67 GAA, 43 saves, and a shutout.
