Mikayla Lee currently slots fourth in the league by averaging a service ace once every third set and is tied for the team lead with
Tyler Caliste at ten aces each, seventh-most in the SWAC.

Seerdyn James has stepped into the libero/defensive specialist role nicely, piling up 74 digs (2.39 per set) to top the team leaderboard.

Bama State got off to an impressive start on Friday evening, sweeping the defending regular season champions, Jackson State, in straight sets on the road. They also picked up non-conference wins over South Carolina State and two PWIs, Jacksonville and Gardner-Webb.

Head Coach Penny Lucas-White deploys a pair of 100-kill outside hitters in Kalysia Bates (132, 2.40 p/s) and Jada Rhodes (111, 2.31 p/s), two players with hitting percentages above .270; Bates (.278) and Taniya Jones (.274), plus double-digit service ace specialists of Madison Beasley (14) and Brooke Adams (10).

Temperance Chatman is third in the Southwestern Athletic Conference with 183 digs for an average of 3.39 per set while Bates (45) and Mahogany Vinson (34) have both been deniers at the net with gaudy block numbers.
