ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils baseball team will open its 2023 season in the inaugural Cactus Jack HBCU Classic, in partnership with the Houston Astros and the Cactus Jack Foundation.

The Cactus Jack HBCU Classic week includes a variety of events, highlighted by a college fair featuring over 100 colleges and universities hosted by the Astros Youth Academy at Minute Maid Park. The partnership with the Cactus Jack Foundation for the tournament supports their longstanding commitment to raising money and providing scholarship opportunities for students to attend HBCUs. 

The Cactus Jack HBCU Classic will be Friday through Sunday, February 17-19 at Minute Maid Park, home of the World Series Champion Astros. The Delta Devils are one of six teams in the event, along with fellow Southwestern Athletic Conference teams: Grambling State, Jackson State, Prairie View A&M, Southern, and Texas Southern.

MVSU will face Texas Southern on Friday at 3:00 p.m., Jackson State on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., and Grambling State on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in non-conference games.

Each day, 2,500 fans will receive an exclusive Travis Scott Bobblehead presented by Cactus Jack Foundation.
