ITTA BENA, MISS. – Mississippi Valley State defeated University of Arkansas Pine-Bluff 42-17 for a homecoming victory.
UAPB received the opening kickoff and MVSU's defense held them to a quick three and out with 13:22 remaining.
MVSU struck first on the scoreboard with a 35-yard touchdown pass from
Ty'Jarian Williams to
Kerrick Ross.
MVSU took control of the game from the defensive side of the ball holding UAPB to only scoring a field goal in the first half.
UAPB scored a touchdown in the third quarter with 12:15 remaining.
MVSU scored twice in the third quarter on a 3-yard touchdown pass from
Ty'Jarian Williams to
Jaxson Davis, and on a 14-yard Interception returned for a touchdown by
Omar Emmons.
UAPB scored a touchdown once more in the fourth quarter.
MVSU extended the lead with a 53-yard rushing touchdown by
DePhabian Fant and a 7-yard rushing touchdown by
Jared Wilson in the fourth quarter that sealed the game.
