BIRMINGHAM, AL - Mississippi Valley State Devilettes take a 88-56 loss to University of Alabama-Birmingham on Wednesday night at Bartow Arena.
Sh'Diamond McKnight had a team high 17 points and eight rebounds while adding five steals and four assists.
The Devilettes (1-7) trailed UAB (6-1) 42-23 going into halftime.
Six of the 14 points scored by MVSU in the third quarter were scored in the paint. The Devilettes outscored UAB 32-28 with points scored in the paint.
UAB pulled away in the fourth quarter to finish the game ending in 88-56.
MVSU falls to 1-7 on the season.
MVSU returns to action on Monday December 4, 2023 at 7PM to face University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
