DENTON, TX – Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball team drops a 79-48 loss to University of North Texas on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Delta Devils were led by Arecko Gipson who scored a team high 20 points and nine rebounds. Gipson also shot 62 percent from the field with zero turnovers.
 
Rayquan Brown added nine points, five rebounds, and two steals.
 
The Delta Devils (0-8) kept it close for much of the first half as they at one point made six straight shots in the first 20 minutes of the game.
 
MVSU outscored UNT in second chance points 15-11.
 
The game went through four lead changes and six ties.
 
MVSU returns to action on Tuesday December 5 2023, at 6PM to face Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
