ITTA BENA, Miss. - The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils announced its 2023 Football schedule on Monday afternoon.
The Wade Era will kick off in the Chicago Football Classic on Saturday, September 2, against Central State.
The Delta Devils will compete in three classics inside two NFL stadiums. In addition, there are four home games at the Rice-Totten Stadium. The homecoming game is set for Saturday, October 14, against the Golden Lions of Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
Wade enters the 2023 season as the 18th Football Head Coach, and he is no stranger to MVSU. Wade is a two-time graduate, star football player, and coach for the Delta Devils. He makes his way back to his alma mater after seven years of head coaching experience on the high school and middle school level, followed by six years as an assistant coach on the collegiate level.
"I have dreamed of this moment; I saw it before it became a reality. I always felt I would have the honor of returning home to elevate this program to compete for championships, and that's what we are going to do. I know it will not happen overnight, but the "Process" of that elevation begins now. Valley, THE TIME IS NOW," said Wade.
