ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State Diamond Devils will travel to Jonesboro, Ark., to compete against the Red Wolves of Arkansas State in a doubleheader on Tuesday, February 28. The first pitch set for 4:00 p.m. The second game will begin approximately 30 minutes afterward.
The Diamond Devils completed its home opener on Sunday against UAPB, 3-1.
MVSU tallied ten runs in the sixth inning, launching three home runs on the day. The Diamond Devils tallied 20 hits in the game. To add, MVSU tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases.
The Diamond Devils are currently ranked first nationally and in the SWAC in stolen bases, with 42 total stolen bases. Davon Mims (1st) and Narvin Booker (4th) are currently ranked in stolen bases.
The Diamond Devils are also ranked first in the SWAC in doubles per game. Freshman catcher Ryan Brown is currently ranked third in the conference in doubles, with a value of three total. Brown is also ranked second in the league in doubles per game.
Sophomore outfielder Narvin Booker is currently ranked third in the conference in runs, with ten total runs.
