Kameron Byrd found a bright spot for MVSU with a single in the third inning. Byrd and Victor Figueroa each collected one hit.
James Snipes took the loss for MVSU. Snipes allowed ten hits and seven runs over five innings, striking out two and walking one.
Game 2 | Box Score
MVSU could not recover as Arkansas State began its lead in the first inning, 3-2.

Dreylin Holmes led the Diamond Devils with two hits in three at-bats.
Azalius Lewis took the loss for MVSU. The lefty surrendered three runs on six hits, striking out eight and walking one.
"The first game, we came out flat and did not play well defensively. We were not our normal selves out there," said head coach Milton Barney. "In game two, we woke up and swung the bat wells." Lewis attacked the strike zone on the mound. One hit away from splitting the series. Overall, I am pleased with the fight and effort in game two. Shows what kind of team we have. This team is relentless and will always fight! Expect us to compete and be in every game."
