FLORENCE, AL - The Mississippi Valley State volleyball team dropped a three-set match (25-13, 25-22, 25-22) to SWAC competitor University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Friday at Flowers Hall in the UNA Classic.
The Devilettes were led by a double-double from
Mikayla Lee who registered a match high 11 assists and 11 digs on the day.
Michala Black added five kills and three assists. Ashlynn Hawkins also added 12 digs on the defensive side of the ball for MVSU.
UAPB took an early lead in the first set. The last two sets were filled with a lot of emotion as each team traded points back and forth.
The loss drops MVSU to 3-6 on the season.
MVSU is back in action on Saturday, September 16th against Central Arkansas at 11:00 a.m. and North Alabama at 3:00 p.m. which will be aired on ESPN+.
