JACKSON, Miss – Mississippi Valley State volleyball team takes a 3-1 loss (21-25, 25-22, 9-25, 18-25) to Jackson State Friday evening at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.
MVSU falls to 4-9 on the season and 0-1 in SWAC conference play.
MVSU was led by
Seerdyn James who had eight kills, eight digs, and two blocks, and
Mikayla Lee who had 22 assists and eight digs.
Michayla Black added six kills during the match. On the defensive side of the ball
Ashlynn Hawkins added eight digs, and
Malia Black had two blocks.
During the first set, MVSU went back and forth trading points with JSU who would eventually win the set. Neither team led by more than four points in the match.
Despite a JSU rally, MVSU hung on to clinch the second set 25-22.
In the third set. JSU took a 16-point lead and won the set.
MVSU fought back in the fourth set to keep it close but fell to a seven-point deficit losing the set.

MVSU will travel to Tallahassee to take on Florida A&M on Saturday, September 30
th at 2:00pm.
