BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - Mississippi Valley State University's men's basketball face tough 78-54 loss to Southern University at the F.G. Clark Activity Center on Monday night.
In the first half, the Delta Devils found themselves trailing the Jaguars 18-2 with 14:35 remaining in the 1st half.
Led by
Arecko Gipson who had 11 points, four rebounds and one block, MVSU made a comeback bringing the lead within single digits with 9:18 remaining.
The Jaguars extended their lead going into halftime leading MVSU 46-26.
Although much effort was given, the Delta Devils fall short to Southern 78-54.
MVSU was led by
Arecko Gipson who scored 17 points and recorded six rebounds.
Rayquan Brown added 16 points and six rebounds.
Donovan Sanders added nine points.
Up next, the Delta Devils will host University of Arkansas Pine-Bluff on Saturday February 3, 2024. The game is scheduled for 6:00PM.
