It was a beautiful evening for football at Mississippi Valley State University, where the air was thick with excitement. The Delta Devils were finally home, and the stadium was packed, with students, alumni, and community members.
 
The game held special significance due to the closeness of the head coaches for both teams and for the honoring of an Alumnus of the Game, a recognition bestowed upon someone whose contributions had not only uplifted the university but had also made a lasting impact on the community. 
 
Among those eagerly awaiting the announcement was Dr. Nannette Brown, a 1986 graduate of the University.
 
As the first media timeout began, Mr. Jerome Blake's voice boomed through the stadium, "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our Alumnus of the Game, Dr. Nannette Brown!"
 
Dr. Brown is a member of the Bolivar County Chapter of the Mississippi Valley State University National Alumni Association, where she serves as the president.
