HUNTSVILLE, AL. - Mississippi Valley State University baseball recorded 16 hits in a 14-8 conference win over Alabama A&M University on Saturday afternoon at Bulldog baseball Field.
Starting pitcher
Armando Sierra earned the win for MVSU. Sierra gave up nine hits and seven runs (four earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out four and walking two.
MVSU was led offensively by
Benny Hernandez who drove in four runs on three hits including a triple and a homerun to left field in the eighth inning to help lead MVSU over Alabama A&M University.
GAME NOTES
- Mississippi Valley State accumulated 16 hits in the game.
- Jack Early provided a spark in the lineup going 4-for-5 collecting four RBIs.
- Ty Washington went 3-for-5 with 1 RBI and a walk.
- Maury Weaver led MVSU drawing two walks at the plate.
- MVSU as a team drew six walks.
- Mississippi Valley State's highest-scoring inning was in the eighth when six runs were pushed across the plate.
- Brayden Eftink appeared in relief to close out the game.
