Brunt Stifles Grambling With Career-Best Four Blocks

 
GRAMBLING, La. – The Mississippi Valley State University volleyball program sported its best hitting percentage (0.207) and most blocks (9) against an NCAA Division I opponent so far this season, playing hard despite the setback on the scoreboard.

  • Brooklyn Brunt held the biggest block party of her career, rejecting four Tigers attacks (one solo, 1.33 p/s) and crushing five kills (1.67 p/s) on offense.
 
  • Alaya Rhodes was an all-around performer on this evening, going for a season-most three blocks (1.00 p/s), doubling the number of kills (6, 2.00 p/s), and logging five digs (1.67 p/s) as well.
 
  • Continuing the theme of rejection, Aniyah Moore topped all Green and White clad student-athletes by racking up five total blocks.
 
  • Shifting over to the kills department, Lyric Edwards hit 0.500 courtesy of seven kills, one error and a dozen attempts while Jadyn Rambo put together five kills too.
 
  • Carrington Archer topped the club in both assists (13, 4.33 p/s) and service aces (2, 0.67 p/s) whereas Leticia Franco recorded a double figure assist tally at 11 (3.67 p/s) plus seven (2.33 p/s) digs.

  • The women make their way back to Itta Bena for its longest homestand of the campaign, kicking off the extended stay on Sunday against Southern at 3 p.m. inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.
