ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's basketball program won its fourth consecutive home opener dating back to 2022-23, thanks in large part to winning both the turnover battle (15-19) as well as the rebounding margin (42-34) to defeat the Lipscomb Bisons Sunday afternoon, 72-68.

Devilettes' Top Performers:
- Ariel Jefferson was a monster, leading Valley in points (20), all players in rebounds (12), hauling down eight boards on the offensive glass, shot 72.7% (8-for-11) from the field, splashed her lone attempt from distance, and stole the rock once as she picked up double-double numero uno for the campaign.
- Jaeda Murphy struggled in the scoring department (three points) but made up for it in a huge way courtesy of a game-best four steals, a MVSU-most three assists, seven rebounds, and the 5-foot-3 guard even blocked a shot (her second as a Devilette).
- LeMoyne-Owen transfer Nairobi Lewis was in the starting lineup for Coach James and did damage in limited action, blocking multiple shots (2) with seven points and seven boards in only 17 minutes.
- Janiya Jones contributed a healthy 15 points to the scoreboard in addition to a trio of rebounds, a pair of assists, a block plus a steal.
- Kylah McCullers dropped a dirty dozen on the visitors from Music City, going 5-for-10 over 20 minutes on the time log.
