Delta Devils' Top Performers:

  • For the third time this season, senior Marko Jovisic was the sole reason the Delta Devils were able to dent the scoreboard, making his lone attempt from 42 yards away.

  • Senior Marko Dubak logged a career day, blasting 404 yards of punts over eight boots for a sparkling average of 50.5 which included pinning the Tigers inside their own red zone on five separate occasions and one of those being a mammoth 68-yard bazooka.

  • Senior Kobe Byrd provided the biggest play of the afternoon, scooping up his first career fumble and sprinting 34 yards from close to the JSU end zone and bringing it back to about midfield.

  • Christian White was the primary source of production on offense, averaging a YPC of 17 on three catches for a team-best 51 receiving yards.

  • Senior DePhabian Fant, who we egregiously left off the Senior Spotlight and want to apologize for, set a career-high with three receptions out of the backfield.

  • Keyshawn Lawrence got sack number one in his second contest donning Green and White, taking down the signal-caller for the defense's only sack of the day.

  • Senior Brandon Nunez had the unenviable task of taking over for the injured starter after just one passing attempt, ending the afternoon with personal records regarding passing yards (126) and completions (15).

  • Prince Ijioma was the leading tackler for Valley State, garnering a career-most half-dozen as five came without assistance.

Next:

  • A "neutral site" matchup in the form of the Port City Classic is due up for the Devils, their opponent . . . (RV) Alabama State with the game scheduled in Mobile at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
