MVSU Battles Hard in Second-Half Surge Against Alabama A&M

Itta Bena, MS – The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils put up a valiant fight at home, showing heart and resilience in a tough battle against Alabama A&M on Saturday night at the Harrison HPER Complex. Though the final score read 82-70 in favor of Alabama A&M, MVSU showcased its determination, especially with a dominant second-half performance.

The game started off with Alabama A&M jumping out to an early lead, but the Delta Devils never wavered. Despite a challenging first half, MVSU stormed back in the second half, outscoring their opponent 52-50 in the final 20 minutes. The offensive surge was led by Jair Horton, who delivered an all-around impressive performance with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. His presence in the paint and on the boards gave MVSU the spark they needed to keep the fight alive.

Greg Moore provided an offensive boost off the bench, contributing 14 points and six clutch free throws to keep the Delta Devils within striking distance. Antonio Sisk added 12 points and three assists, showing his ability to create opportunities for his teammates while keeping the defense on its toes.

On the defensive side, Raeshun McGregory and Arthur Tate each made key plays, combining for four steals that led to fast-break opportunities. The team's intensity on defense resulted in eight total steals and forced multiple turnovers, keeping Alabama A&M on edge.

Despite Alabama A&M's early advantage, MVSU never quit, showcasing their resilience and fight down the stretch. The Delta Devils dominated inside, scoring 34 points in the paint and executing in transition, adding 14 fast-break points to their offensive tally.
