ITTA BENA, Miss. – March 28, 2025 — Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) baseball came out swinging and never looked back, sweeping Thursday's SWAC doubleheader against Alcorn State at Magnolia Field. The Delta Devils racked up a combined 31 runs on 29 hits, capturing Game One 16–13 and Game Two 15–12.
Game One: MVSU 16, Alcorn State 13
In the opening game, Valley used a nine-run second inning to set the tone early and held off a late surge from the Braves.

Offensive Power: MVSU recorded 16 hits and 13 RBIs, including 2 home runs, while going a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts.

Big Inning: The Delta Devils exploded in the 2nd inning with 9 runs on a flurry of hits and disciplined plate appearances.

Pitching & Defense: Despite allowing 13 runs, MVSU played solid defensively with 11 assists and 27 putouts.
Game Two: MVSU 15, Alcorn State 12
The nightcap was another offensive showcase as MVSU overcame a 7th-inning push from Alcorn to claim the series sweep.
