Delta Devils Dominate: MVSU Sweeps Arkansas Baptist in Weekend Series

Itta Bena, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils delivered a dominant performance over the weekend, sweeping Arkansas Baptist in a high-scoring series at Magnolia Field. In their final matchup on March 8, 2025, the Delta Devils secured an emphatic 18-6 victory, capping off a three-game sweep with an explosive offensive display.

Offense Runs Wild

MVSU's bats stayed hot throughout the series, and Aiden Meyer led the charge in the final game. Meyer had a standout performance, going 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs, consistently finding ways to bring runners home and keep the scoreboard moving.

The Delta Devils wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to an early lead and never looking back. The team racked up 19 hits, showing their depth at the plate and capitalizing on Arkansas Baptist's defensive struggles.

Top Performer:

  • Aiden Meyer3 hits, 3 RBIs (led the team in both categories)

Lockdown Pitching Secures the Win

While the offense stole the show, MVSU's pitching staff also played a crucial role. The Delta Devils limited Arkansas Baptist to just three hits across seven innings, showcasing a balanced approach that kept their opponents off the bases.

Arkansas Baptist tried to mount a comeback in the fifth inning, plating five runs, but MVSU responded immediately, tacking on insurance runs to put the game out of reach.

Looking Ahead

With this commanding sweep, MVSU builds momentum heading into its next non-conference matchup. If the Delta Devils can keep up this offensive firepower and strong pitching, they'll be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming games.
