Volleyball Drops SWAC Opener at Bethune-Cookman

 
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Mississippi Valley State University volleyball program went to the conference's easternmost campus in search of a 1-0 start to SWACtion but came away emptyhanded as the BCU Wildcats prevailed in three.

Devilettes' Top Performers: 
 
  • Alaya Rhodes had one of her best showings in her 2025 SWAC debut, leading the visitors with nine digs (season-high) and two service aces (season-high) while also going for a 2025-best pair of assists, all in addition to four kills.
 
  • Carrington Archer and Leticia Franco each put double-figure assist totals into the stat sheet at 12 (4.00 p/s) and 10 (3.50 p/s) respectively, the former tacking on seven digs (2.33 p/s) and the latter serving up a pair of aces.
 
  • Dashaun Pinesette was on fire all night long, hitting an eye-popping 0.438 with a Devilettes-most eight kills (2.67 p/s) compared to just a single error.
 
  • Lyric Edwards was the other player with more than a half-dozen kills at exactly six (2.00 p/s) whereas Brooklyn Brunt notched just her second career defensive dig, the first of the campaign for the Sophomore.
