HOUSTON, Texas – The Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball program, down their three top scorers and limited to just six active players, were unable to overcome its lack of depth as the Texas Southern Tigers wore down the Delta Devils en route to an 84-51 decision.

Delta Devils' Top Performers:
 

• Mussa Mzein made the most of his season-high 38 minutes by cobbling together his first double-double in Green and White, posting season-highs of 12 points, ten rebounds and three steals, the latter two being the most on the team.

 

• Patrick Punch stepped into the lead scoring role, dropping a contest-best 18 points via a personal record seven field goals (three long balls) while also snagging four boards and two assists without leaving the floor once.

 

• Both Chance Sutton and Tyrone Iroghama were thrust into much bigger roles, combining to tally 17 points, ten rebounds, four steals plus an assist.

 

• Finally, X'Zaevion Barnett was responsible for half of the team's eight dimes, handing out a quartet whereas Jonathan Pace doubled his season's minutes played total (10) and rebounds (2).
