THE DELTA | Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball will take center stage Wednesday as the Delta Devils participate in the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Media Day on Wednesday, October 7, in Birmingham, Alabama.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Embassy Suites and will bring together coaches and student-athletes from across the conference to preview the upcoming 2026-27 basketball season.

Representing Mississippi Valley State will be Head Coach Mike Davis, along with student-athletes Eli Pippins and Tymias Williams.

The annual preseason event will give Davis, Pippins and Williams an opportunity to represent Valley on the conference stage while discussing the Delta Devils' preparation for the upcoming season, the development of the program and expectations entering another competitive SWAC campaign.

Davis enters the season continuing his work to build the MVSU program and establish a competitive identity within the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Media Day will provide the veteran head coach an opportunity to offer an early look at this year's Delta Devils and the direction of the program heading into the new campaign.

Pippins and Williams will join Davis in Birmingham as representatives of the MVSU student-athlete experience. The pair will have the opportunity to discuss the team's offseason preparation, chemistry and goals as the Delta Devils move closer to the start of the season.

SWAC Men's Basketball Media Day serves as the conference's official preseason showcase, providing media members with access to coaches and student-athletes from each member institution ahead of the opening of the college basketball season.
