HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's basketball program kept the theme of opportunistic defense intact on Saturday, picking the pocket of Bulldogs players 17 times but Alabama A&M earned the win to split the season series, 95-55.

• Jaeda Murphy does her best charity work when lined up opposite AAMU, posting two of her highest assist totals of the year against the Bulldogs as she led all student-athletes at seven dimes to go along with eight points plus four rebounds.

 

• Sydney Thompson posted her best performance of her freshman season so far, tallying season-bests for minutes (20), points (12) and free throws (7) as well as her first career multi-steal affair (2).

 

• Ja'la Douglas contributed her most points (9), boards (5), and free throws (3) of 2025-26 on top of a career-most three steals.

 

• Ariel Jefferson joined Thompson in the double-figure scoring category at 11 points, both Jakyrra Sandifer and Keanna Coburn added blocked shots to their totals plus Taylor Crawford tied her personal record for takeaways at three.
