GRAMBLING, La. – The Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball program's defense recorded its highest number of steals (12) and forced its most turnovers (20) in an NCAA Division I game this season, however, the Grambling State Tigers protected their home court with an 83-62 decision.

- Patrick Punch was the other Devil to collect a trio of takeaways in addition to nine points while Daniel Mayfield tacked on 11 points plus five rebounds.

- X'Zaevion Barnett was an assist generator, serving up a contest-high seven dimes, a campaign-most for the junior.
