Men’s Basketball Escapes UAPB With First Road Win

 
PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Mississippi Valley State University men's basketball program has stolen a victory at Arkansas-Pine Bluff for the second straight season and have currently won two of its past three games as another wild final minute of play witnessed the Delta Devils survive the clutches of the Golden Lions, 70-69.
 
The win was the first away from Itta Bena for the men's squad since defeating UAPB on their own floor over one year ago, back on February 1, 2025.

  • Xzayvion Childress had one of his better showings since being added late to the roster, posting his most buckets (5-of-10, 50%) and boards (6) in addition to three dimes.
 
  • Daniel Mayfield produced 14 points (7-for-16, 43.8%) and five rebounds while Patrick Punch added 11 on offense (4-of-7, 57.1%) plus five more rebounds himself.
 
  • X'Zaevion Barnett was the leader on the glass for Coach Ivory courtesy of a personal-best nine (four offensive) on top of racking up the most assists as well with four.
